RESTAURANT SPACE

PUB

Upon arriving at our restaurant, you will find yourself on the pub side. To the right of the outside doors is the legendary "cultural corner," where the volume may occasionally rise depending on the group. During last year's renovation, the wall paneling was removed, allowing for easy observation of the typically Tamperean life on Näsilinnankatu from the pub side. The cultural corner also has a TV, where you can watch whatever happens to be on the usual channels.

Opposite the exterior doors are the restroom facilities. Turning right from the door, you will find our selection of board games, which is entirely available for customers to use freely. We are also happy to receive requests and will occasionally update the selection. This corner also serves as a performance stage, where troubadours occasionally perform, and where last March, the long-time silhouette artist Väinö Kemppainen appeared.

As you head confidently to the left, you might notice our regular customers who serve as the basic pillars of our restaurant. We at Ohranjyvä have always valued our regulars, who from years past still adorn the walls of our restaurant. At this table, some of them are fortunately still spending their afternoons reading newspapers and discussing current topics. They also gladly welcome random visitors and new challengers for the Sunday quizzes.

Next to the counter used to be the 'junttisuora', which underwent a transformation in the early 2000s and now features three booths. In these booths, it is just as acceptable to enjoy a light beer while chatting with the staff, as it is to spend the best date night of your life dining on three courses by candlelight.

DINING ROOM

Our dining room is located at the back of the restaurant. The room can accommodate 30 people for dining if needed and is also available for private events. On the back wall of the room, there are pictures from the previous years of our restaurant.

The hall features two round tables that, due to their history, have gained a cult status in Tampere. Celebrities of their time have gathered around these tables, and especially the innermost is still known as the "Porski's table", for which a dedicated telephone socket was installed for that particular person. Additionally, in these round tables, there are clocks on the walls that were used to summon service to the tables. Back in the day, there were no "outsiders" allowed at these tables. Nowadays, they are available for customers to use freely, and many hope when making a reservation that they can be seated at these specific tables. We always fulfill wishes whenever possible.Otherwise, the dining room can accommodate a total of 30 people for dining. The space can be reserved privately, or desired table arrangements can be made for a group. It is possible to seat a maximum of 15 people at the same table.

BACK TERRACE

In the summer, our dining guests can access our back terrace. The terrace is covered and mostly shaded, making it a great place to cool down and enjoy food and drinks in peace on scorching summer days. The terrace can accommodate up to 16 people at a time and can also be reserved for private events.
